Project Racing Home conducted its
membership drive for 2007 during the months of October 2007 thru March 1 of 2008. This year
was a very promising year as we made great progress in adoption. We increased
our efforts to work united with racing kennels and owners to place as many
retired racers in homes as we could handle!
As we received funds from across the
country, we found it interesting that we received as much form the previous
adopters and donors as we did the industry folks. Just shows that working
together, we can make a difference.

Project Racing Home acknowledges that
Greyhound Racing exists and because it
exists, it produces a very special breed of dog, the retired racing greyhound.
We work
in a positive manner with the breeders, owners and racing kennels to promote
responsible retirement and adoption. Because we have a working relationship
with those in the industry we are able to place greyhounds prior to them ever
reaching the rescue /elimination stage. We have first hand knowledge of the dogs
prior
racing history and use this knowledge to help find the best homes for our
retired
athletes. Project Racing Home is a retirement plan for the Greyhound athlete.
